EFFINGHAM — Jeanette L. Curry, 91, of Effingham, passed away at 2:44 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with Dr. Roger Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Effingham. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.

Jeanette was born on July 7, 1921, in Effingham, the daughter of Edward H. and Vallie (Scott) Schuette. She married Charles T. Curry in 1945, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1989.

Jeanette was a member of First Baptist Church, Effingham. Jeanette and her husband, Charlie, owned and operated the Pleasant Point Cafe in Effingham. She was a sales associate at Thomas Shop for many years. She and her husband also chaperoned and managed the Rec Center for several years.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Janet (Gary) Poynter of Effingham; granddaughters, Michelle (Steve) Kingery of Salem and Melissa Koester of Effingham; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Kingery and Lizzy Kingery, both of Salem.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; and two sisters, Alice Schuette and Nadine Schuette.
