---- — Myron Owen Bennett, 73, of Cowden, died at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. In keeping with Myron’s wishes, cremation will follow the visitation. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be sent at www.howeandyockey.com.
Myron was born on Jan. 30, 1940, in Cowden, the son of Thomas Myron and Ada May Horath Bennett. He attended Cowden High School and then served in the U. S. Army. Myron was a lifelong farmer, farming in the Cowden area.
He is survived by his daughters, Brenda S. Lewis of Shelbyville, Linda L. (husband, Brian) Headrick of Cowden; son-in-law, Brent Himes of Shelbyville; brothers, Tom (wife, Delois) Bennett of Amarillo, Texas, Earnest (wife, Barb) Bennett of Cowden, Kenneth (wife, Brenda) Bennett of Cowden, Henry Bennett of Beecher City; grandchildren, Belinda Hoyt of Shelbyville, Benjamin Hoyt of Shelbyville, Samantha and Sara Headrick of Cowden, Jeri (fiance, Greg Cresswell) Lewis of Lafayette, Ind., Matthew (fiancee, Elizabeth Pettyjohn-Thrall) Lewis of Shelbyville; and great-grandchildren, Micah and Noah Sandiford of Cowden, Jonah Hoyt of Shelbyville, Ian and Tucker Hoyt of Shelbyville and Kallie Brown of Cowden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Pamela J. Himes on July 24, 2013; and brothers, Homer Horath and Harvey Bennett.
