---- — Meriem Hartman-Brewer-Wright, 84, of Charleston, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31,
2013, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1929, in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of Otis Franklin Hartman and Hilda Violet Fasig Hartman. Meriem married Richard L. Brewer in 1947. He passed away on May 9, 1957. She later married Lewis “Ed” Wright on May 16, 1970.
Meriem supported her children by first taking in laundry, then doing retail and factory work. She was last employed as department head of the ward secretaries at Charleston Memorial Hospital until it closed in 1977.
Survivors include husband, Ed Wright of Charleston; children, Terry (wife Kristi) Brewer of West Chicago, Judy (Brewer) Davis and husband Bill of Charleston, Scott A. Brewer of Casey, Randy (wife Angel) Brewer of Martinsville, Jo (Brewer) Young and husband Tom of St. Joseph; stepdaughter, Mary Anna (husband Ala) Gill of Paris; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Richard Brewer; son, Richard Brewer II; grandson, Richard Brewer III; brother, Robert Hartman; and sister, Naomi Weeden.
