---- — Lorraine Neal, 84, of Greenup, passed away at 8:07 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Block Cemetery, rural Greenup. Memorials can be made to either the Crossroads Cancer Center in Effingham or to the Greenup American Legion Auxiliary. Lorraine was born on Dec. 29, 1928 in Terre Haute, Ind., the daughter of L. A. “Cap” and Zelma (Wood) Roan. She married Charles “Chod” Neal on Sept. 28, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1998.
Lorraine was a homemaker and had served on the Life Center of Cumberland Co. board and was a member and past president of the Greenup American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.
Surviving is a daughter, Diane Stewart of Greenup; sons, William “Bill” Neal of Casey and David Neal of Effingham; sister, Lucille Hutton of Toledo; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Emogene Brewer.
