---- — Harold Curtis Millsap, 90, of Effingham, formerly of Newton, passed away at 8:22 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 17, at Crain Funeral Home, Newton. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Newton. Harold was born on Oct. 5, 1922, in Newton, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Spelbring) Millsap. On Dec. 9, 1995, Harold married Dorothy Pierson Weiler. She survives. Harold spent his life as a farmer and raising livestock. He later served as a security guard for CIPS in Newton until his retirement. His memberships include the Newton Christian Church, Jasper County Farm Bureau and the American Angus Association.
He will be loved and remembered by his wife, Dorothy Millsap of Effingham; stepsons, Chris Weiler (wife, Debbie) of Woodriver, Rick Weiler (wife, Bette) of Newton, Dave Weiler (wife, Carol) of Olney, and Tom Weiler (wife, Millie) of Knoxville, Tenn.; stepdaughter, Ann Croy (husband, Loyd) of Casey; eight stepgrandchildren, Jenna Armour (husband, Bobby), Elena Wooff (husband, Jon), Andy Weiler, Quinten Weiler, Chelsy Weiler, Tommy Weiler, Leanne Weiler and Carlene Weiler; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Matthew and Samantha Wooff; brother, Ray Millsap (wife, Joan) of Tolono; sisters, Helen Meers of Dundas, Dorothy Weber of Trenton, Ethel White (husband, Bill) of Merryville, Tenn., and Doris Chesnut of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Carl and Fay Millsap; sisters, Bernice Earnst, Neva Rogers and Ruby Gocza; and stepgrandson, Michael Weiler.
