---- — Ferris Dale Williams, 83, of Effingham, formerly of Keptown, died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Effingham, with the Rev. Drew Holloway officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.
Dale was born Saturday, Dec. 28, 1929, in Mattoon to Rollie and Ollie (Wood) Williams. He married Leora H. Beccue on Oct. 13, 1950. He was retired from Illinois Consolidated Telephone Company and had served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Effingham. Dale was an avid golfer and once had a hole in one at the Cardinal golf course.
He is survived by his wife, Leora of Effingham; his sons, Roger (Kathy) Williams of Reno, Nev., and Kevin (Becky) Williams Sr. of Watson; and grandson, Kevin Williams Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Lyle, Wayne and Jerry Williams.
