---- — Ivan Eugene Davis, 71, of Brownstown, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at C&A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo. Burial with full military rites by VFW Post 9770, Brownstown, will be in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p. m. today, April 17, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Maplewood Cemetery or the donor’s choice.
Ivan was born on April 23, 1941, the son of Donal M. and Geneva P. Smith Davis. He married Laurette D. Haslett on April 2, 1982, in Altamont, and she survives. Ivan served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a correctional officer for the State of Illinois Department of Corrections in Vandalia for 30 years and South Central FS in Vandalia for 14 years.
Surviving are his wife, Laurette of Vandalia; sons, Johnny (wife, Angie) Davis of O’Fallon, Bart Davis of Indianapolis, Vincent Davis of Burlington, N.J., and Aaron (fiancee, Katelynn Clearwater) of Jacksonville; brother, Marvin (wife, Judy) Davis of rural Mason; sister, Carol (husband, Marvin) Ridgeway of Decatur; one grandson, Nick Davis of O’Fallon; granddaughter, Taylor Davis of O’Fallon; and a special family dog, “Bradley.”
He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother, Donnie Davis.
