Donald E. Ingram, 88, of Toledo, passed away at 6:28 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Toledo. Burial will be in the Friends Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, May 13, at the funeral chapel. Memorials may be made in his name to the First Baptist Church in Toledo. Donald was born on Feb. 17, 1926, in Springpoint Twp., Cumberland County, Illinois, to George and Ella Vaultonburg Ingram. He married Clella Gast on Feb. 15, 1945, and she preceded him in death. Donald had worked at Kuehne manufacturing in Mattoon, and worked and retired from Fedders Corp. in Effingham. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Toledo and a member of the Allied Stove and Furnace Workers of America.
Surviving are two grandsons, John and Joe Stewart of Charleston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dawn Brophy in October of 2012; grandson, Gary Stewart; eight brothers; and five sisters.
