Andrew Joseph Durkin, one year old son of Bert and Lindsay Durkin, went to heaven to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.
A celebration of Andrew’s life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with Curtis L.E. Graves officiating. Burial will be in Arborcrest Memorial Park, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in memory of Andrew to the family or St. Louis Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital, Dallas Heart Center, 1465 S. Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63104. Andrew was born on April 18, 2013, in Effingham. Andrew was always a happy boy. He woke each day with a smile on his face. He loved to play with his toes, being sang to and read to. He liked to cuddle and watch Mickey Mouse. One of his favorite toys was his daddy’s rattle. And most of all he was a mommy’s boy.
Andrew is survived by his parents; sister, Jasilyn Lingafelter; grandparents, Craig and Debbie Mosher, Brad and Teresa Benefiel and Chuck Beavers; great-grandparents, Andy and Mary Pullen, Hubert and MaryRuth McCarty and Ron and Jeanette Beavers; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
