Doris G. Haslett, 84, of St. Elmo, died at 5:27 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo, with Dan Laack officiating. Memorials may be made to the donors’ choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Doris was born on Saturday, Aug. 3, 1929, in rural Sefton Township, rural Fayette County, to Charlie and Edith (Kepner) Garrison. She married Bobbie Haslett and they later divorced. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo. She was previously employed with Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.
She is survived by her sons, Greg Haslett and his wife Shirley of St. Elmo, Pat Haslett and his wife Cathy of Scottshill, Tennessee, Tim Haslett and his wife Pam, and Dennis Haslett and his wife Vickey, all of St. Elmo; her grandchildren, Shane, Adam, Lindsay, Travis (Heather), Tyler, Toby (Jeni), Capt. Christopher (Beth), Amy, and Sfc. Clayton Haslett; her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Isabella, Gabriella, Matthew and Brooklyn Haslett, Vayda and Gavyn Smith, Trayce, Chloe, Silas and Parker Haslett and Kendra Buchanan.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
