---- — Robert F. Eskew Jr., 60, of Effingham, passed away at 12:16 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at John Cochran Medical Center in St. Louis.
Memorial services will be held at noon Friday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Dr. Roger Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Effingham, with military rites. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Robert was born on Nov. 30, 1952, in Effingham, the son of Robert F. and Helen Marie (Landreth) Eskew. Robert was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion. He was a CB repairman for various businesses. Robert enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing and being outdoors. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed playing darts and shooting pool.
Robert is survived by his son, Tim Eskew of Effingham; daughter, Rachael (Benjamin R. Jr.) Boone of Effingham; brother, Harold (Laura) Eskew of Edgewood; sisters, Mary (Dave) Tosh and Rebecca Eskew, both of Effingham; brother-in-law, Wendell Dishman of Charlestown, Ind.; grandchildren, Ashley (John) Medley, Chelsie Eskew- Boone, Tiffany Boone, Tracy Boone, David Boone and Brittany Burnett; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Rachael, Aiden, Gabriel and Kalie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Judy Dishman.
