Fred was born on Aug. 23, 1950 in Effingham, the son of Fred J. and Rose B. (Hoene) Waldhoff.
Fred was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. He also served in the Army National Guard for six years from 1969 to 1975.
Fred loved the outdoors. His favorite hobbies included farming, fishing, gardening, and tinkering. But most of all, he enjoyed helping out a “guy.” Fred was one of a kind. He was the most caring, compassionate, and understanding man anyone could ask for. Fred always put family and friends before himself. He always greeted you with a smile and a hello that showed how much you meant to him. He always had a plan, whether it was a 4-wheeler in a church to pull up carpet or an engine puller to remove a bathtub, he could always get the job done. Fred will be missed by many people. As Fred would say, “Do you think a guy…..”
