---- — David Allen Bergman, 61, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield, Ind., with the Rev. Phil Rigdon of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Avon, Ind., officiating. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, Ind. Music was by Tiffany Waldhoff Wood of Avon. Pallbearers were Keith Kirby, Lyle Kirby, Fariss Kirby, Rick Bergman, Ryan Fair and Colin Campbell. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.
He was born Sept. 6, 1951, in Champaign, to Allen and Evelyn Kathleen Morgan Bergman. David married Treva Kirby on March 9, 1985, and she survives. David was a graduate of SIU and has worked in the water industry since the 1970s. He was a member of the AWWA and has received multiple awards. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, reading, history and his dogs.
He is survived by a son, Allen Bergman; daughters, Alexandria Riggen and Carla Bergman; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Riggen, all of Indianapolis; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fariss (Jane) Kirby of Dieterich, Lyle (Debbie) Kirby of Wheeler, Loletta (Albert D.) Petersen of Mason, Keith (Kathryn) Kirby of Stewardson and Sheila (Curt) Mellendorf of Louisville.
