Theodore W. “Tuck” Nohren Jr., 97, of Shelbyville died at 3:10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, in Shelby Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Phil Glick and the Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the Lakewood United Methodist Church or Laurel Jean Walden Blind Ministry. Mr. Nohren was born on Dec. 16, 1915, in Galton, the son of Theodore W. Nohren, Sr. and Ethel Biggs Nohren. He was a lifelong farmer. Tuck attended the Lakewood United Methodist Church. He married Evelyn Ruth Miller on Feb. 25, 1940. She died on Feb. 26, 2013.
He is survived by his sons, Richard L. Nohren of Pana and Scott M. Nohren and wife Valerie of Avon, Ind.; daughter, Mary A. Glick and husband Jim of Tower Hill; brother, Ward Nohren and wife Nita of Lakewood; sisters-in-law, Betty Nohren and Lenora Nohren both of Shelbyville and Wilma Nohren of Madison Heights, Mich.; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn; brothers, Merle Nohren, Montelle “Nip” Nohren, John E. “Ed” Nohren, Wilbur “Web” Nohren, Warren “Bush” Nohren and Robert “Bob” Nohren; sisters, Florence Monroe, Goldie Wills, Wandalee Forner and one in infancy; and one granddaughter, Gina Marie Nohren.
