NEW ATHENS —
Donna G. (Bishop) Ozier, 71, of New Athens, born June 26, 1941, in Charleston, died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, New Athens, with the Rev. Ron Chase officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, New Athens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 16, at Heil-Schuessler Funeral Home, New Athens, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Ozier was a homemaker, a member of United Methodist Church in New Athens and also VFW Post 7710 Ladies Auxiliary in New Athens. Donna was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her church, crafts and crocheting and her dog "Minnie."
She is survived by her husband, James R. Ozier of New Athens, whom she married on Aug. 23, 1964, in Greenup; her three children, John J. (LeAnn) Ozier of New Athens, Todd J. (Pamela) Ozier of Waterloo and Lora R. (Jeremy) Schmittling of Smithton; her four grandchildren, Rachael and Nicholas Ozier and Briley and Bryce Schmittling; and her half brother, Robert Jones of Effingham.
Mrs. Ozier was preceded in death by her parents, Keith G. and Mary E. (Rice) Bishop.
