---- — William “Bill” Esch, 89, of Davie, Fla., died Friday, July 19, 2013, at the Nininger Veteran’s Nursing Home, Pembroke Pines, Fla.
A graveside committal service will be held in the near future for both Mr. Esch and his wife who preceded him in death in April 2010, at Camp Butler Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. The Rev. Don Horath, Mrs. Esch’s brother and pastor of Hillside Bethel Tabernacle, Decatur, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Sonshine Via de Cristo, 254 Curtiss Pkwy., Miami, Florida 33166, Vitas Hospice Care 5420 NW 33rd Ave., Suite 100, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33309 or Hillside Bethel Tabernacle, 3575 Greenhill Rd., Decatur, Illinois 62521.
Mr. Esch was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Stewardson, the son of William and Sophia (Marten) Esch. He married Mildred Virginia “Ginny” Horath, March 14, 1946, in St. Louis. Before moving to Hollywood, Fla., in 1970, Mr. Esch and his wife owned and operated Esch Photo in Effingham, from 1949 to 1970.
Mr. Esch is survived by his daughter, Anita Montgomery and husband, Jack, of Davie, Fla.; two grandsons, Derek and wife, Lili, of Bali, Indonesia, and Daron and wife, Karen, of Stevens Point, Wis.; three great-granddaughters, Alice of Bali), and Bailey and Isabelle of Stevens Point; and one great-grandson, Jack William of Stevens Point.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; sisters, Estella Suddarth and Louise Bliss, Mary Vollmer and Elizabeth (Betty) Nau.
