---- — B. Lorene Spragg, 90 of Waxhaw, N.C., formerly of rural Mason, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Monroe, N.C.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, with Robert Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont. Burial will be in Mahon Cemetery, rural Mason. Memorials may be made to Mahon Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.
Lorene was born on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 1923, in Hammond, to Medford A. and P. Ellan (Moats) Neathery. She married George Frederick Spragg on April 10, 1955, at the Asbury Methodist Church in Gilmore. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2012. She had been a homemaker and assisted her husband in farming. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church. They were longtime residents of Effingham County. They moved to Waxhaw, N.C., in September of 2001 to be closer to their family.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Frederick Spragg of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kenneth Eugene Spragg and his wife, Barbara, of Waxhaw, N.C.; three grandchildren, Alyssa Vazquez and husband, Christopher, of Charlotte, N.C., Luke Spragg of Waxhaw, N.C., and Julia Mooney and husband, Max, of Lynwood, Va.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Harold Leonard Neathery, Simon Elber Neathery, and two brothers in infancy, Paul and Oran; her sisters, Polly Elizabeth Ballinger and Loren’s twin sister, Betty Morene, died in infancy.
