---- — Mary Roberta (Bertie) Ozier, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went peacefully at her home on July 26, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Greenup. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup, with wake service at 5 p.m. Burial will be in Greenup Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church and Hospice of Lincolnland or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com.

Bertie was born to Franklin and Grace (Layman) Tharp of Greenup, on May 28, 1931. She married Noel Grant (Dooney) Ozier on April 11, 1953. He preceded her in death in 1972. She will be missed deeply and remembered always as the great woman she was.

Bertie was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Greenup. She spent her career as a licensed practical nurse at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Effingham, IL and the Cumberland Nursing Center in Greenup.

Bertie is survived by her nine children, Ben (Barb) Ozier of Cerro Gordo, Cathy (Frank) Funneman of Effingham, Dan (Cindy) Ozier of St. Joseph, Steve (Diana) Ozier of Woodbury, Vince Ozier, Lima, Ohio, Angie (Raymond) Watkins of Toledo, George Ozier of Greenup, Greg (Rosemary) Ozier of Greenup, and Roger (Julie) Ozier of Greenup; two stepsons, Jim Ozier of New Athens, and Bill (Jane) Ozier of Charleston; sisters, Virginia Quinter of Flower Mount, Texas, and Nancy (John) Gard of Casey; brothers, Jesse Tharp of Newton and Dan (Norma) Tharp of Mahomet; 32 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepson, Robert Ozier; and brother, Dale Tharp.
