Wanda “Lucille” Tarrant, 81, of Effingham, passed away at 2:38 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in Rentfro Cemetery, Shumway. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon with an 11:30 a.m. rosary Saturday, prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to donor’s choice. Lucille was born on July 9, 1932, in Mason, the daughter of Stanley and Nora (Stroup) Adams. She married Harold E. Tarrant on Aug. 20, 1958, in Teutopolis, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2006.
Lucille was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Effingham, and Effingham Moose Lodge 502. She loved gardening, cooking, camping, fishing and especially her trips to Branson, Missouri. Lucille enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren, and especially the company of her great-grandchildren in her later years.
Lucille is survived by her children, Dan Tarrant, Cindy Haarman (Paul Bridges) and Sherry Tarrant, all of Effingham; grandchildren, Jennifer (Troy) Stein of St. Elmo and Lindsey Tarrant (fiance, Cory Rahn) of Sigel; honorary granddaughter, Amber Doty of Effingham; great-grandchildren, Lauren Longwell, Jaxon Stein, Jaron Stein, Blake Rahn and Aliyah Bushue; sisters-in-law, Evelyn McMillan of McHenry and Marian Adams of Mason; brother-in-law, Henry Langhorst of Effingham; and special niece and nephew, Sandy Armstrong and Steve Langhorst, both of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; sisters, Edith Mendez, Ethel Ellis and Ruth Langhorst; and brothers, Harry Adams, Arlie Adams and Mike Adams.
