---- — Kevin Lee Springman, 47, of Altamont, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown. Burial will be in Pilcher Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Memorials may be made to Pilcher Cemetery or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.giesekingfh.com.
Kevin was born on Tuesday, April 13, 1965, in Vandalia, to William and Betty (Durbin) Springman. He married Lori Fisher on Aug. 20, 1988, in Brownstown. Kevin was employed as the supervisor of the Bureau of Identification at Vandalia Correctional Center. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Elmo, and of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lori of Altamont; his daughters, Alison (Logan) Cage of Brownstown, Katie Springman of Altamont, and Emily Springman of Carbondale; his grandchildren and pride and joy, Liam Cage and Alaina Cage, both of Brownstown; his brothers, Russell Springman of Brownstown and Brice (Angie) Springman of Vandalia; his sisters, Carla (Jeff) Higgs of Altamont and Connie Oakley (fiance, Jeff Gardner); his parents, William “Bill” and Betty Springman and paternal grandmother, Pauline Springman, all of Brownstown; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
