Connie S. Pipkins, 56, of Effingham, formerly of Flora, passed away at 8:11 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Good Samaritan RHC, Mount Vernon.
A graveside service for Connie Pipkins will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. There will be no visitation. Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, is in charge of arrangements. Connie was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Texas, to David “Bud” and Helen J. (Greenwood) Dulaney. She was married to Bobby Pipkins. Connie had worked as a dental assistant at Martin Dental.
She was a member of Oak Street Southern Baptist Church in Flora, The Humane Society of the United States and was a supporter of the St. Labre Indian School. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, reading, crossword puzzles and just getting out and enjoying life. Connie was generous, selfless and always trying to help others. Family and friends were always important to her and she always stayed in touch, especially on holidays and special occasions.
She is survived by her children, Adam Pipkins and Heather Pipkins, both of Effingham; a sister, Linda (Charles) Lewis of Flora; a grandson, Brayden Aldredge; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dave L. Dulaney Jr.
