---- — Tracey Lee Varnum, 50, of Springfield, Mo., formerly of Effingham, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
Cremation rites were accorded and he will be interred in Elkville Cemetery, Elkville, at a later date. A private family memorial was held Sunday, July 21.
Mr. Varnum was born Jan. 12, 1963, and was the son of LaDonna (Crispin) and the late Archie Varnum, both formerly of Effingham. He was a 1981 graduate of Effingham High School and played Hearts football. He coached kids at recreation centers most of his life. He lived in several states over the years, and was working construction in the storm-ravaged areas of southern Missouri.
Tracey never married but leaves behind his mother, LaDonna Varnum of Colona; sisters, Kay (Varnum) Naab of Beecher City, Candy Gusentine of Davenport, Iowa, and LaSandra (Varnum) Goodwin (Rodger) of East Moline; uncle, Charles Crispin (Patty) of DuQuoin; and nieces, Courtney (Naab) Hendershot (Adam) and children, Jayson, Becca and Jaycob of Benton, Ky., and Shelby (Naab) Cooper (Dustin) of Herrick, and son, Camo.
