---- — Clyde W. Joliff, 84, of Edgewood, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. Burial with military rites by the Edgewood American Legion Post 1168 will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to Clay County Hospice.
Clyde was born on Nov. 18, 1928, in Clay County, the son of John W. and Lola M. (Myers). He married Evelyn R. Lybarger on Feb. 22, 1953, in Clay County. Mr. Joliff was a lifelong resident of the Edgewood community. He was a retired carpenter and had worked for 28 years at W. G. Best Homes in Effingham. Clyde was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-1952 in Korea. He was awaiting a new great grandchild in November.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn of Edgewood; sons, Larry of Edgewood and Gary (Linda) of Altamont; daughters, Mary Jo (David) Pilman of Kinmundy, Cathy Hassebrock of Kinmundy, and Jeanne Goers of Altamont; brother, Carl (Vennetta) of Forsythe; brother-in-law, Bill Altman of Edgewood; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Nelda Jean and Ruth Altman; and one grandson, Denton Jay Goers.
