---- — James (Jim) Morris Sr., 90, of Glendale, Ariz., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Ryan House, Hospice of the Valley.
There will be a memorial service with honors at 9:30 a.m. Monday at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024. Donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley, or Arizona State Veterans Home or donor’s choice.
He was born In Valley Junction, Iowa, on Oct. 30, 1922. He graduated from Waukee High School in 1944 and then enlisted in the U.S.Air Force. Jim flew 32 missions in a B-17 out of England. He was an auctioneer and he worked at the Des Moines Register Tribune in advertising for 18 years. He was an Assistant Secretary IA State Fair, he developed Teen Town, Gulf America Corp Developing Cape Coral, Fla., McCoulough Corp, and developing Fountain Hills, Ariz.
He opened 1st Real Estate office in Fountain Hills then founded Buy from Owner Reality. He loved all sports and played golf.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol; sons, Jim Jr. (Shiela), and John; grandchildren, Katie, Isabella, Rhonda, Jeanette and Tony; sisters-in-law, Lucille Schroeder, Dorothy Runge, Pat Moris and other family and friends.
