---- — Louise “Lou” Kuntzi, 88, of Springfield, died at 2:04 a.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at St. John’s Hospital.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Drive, Springfield, with the Rev. Joseph Ring as celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Illinois Chapter, 2309 W. Lou was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Effingham, the daughter of Henry and Agnes Feldhake Huelsbusch. She married William Kuntzi in 1949; he preceded her in death in 1974. Lou was a registered nurse at St. John’s Hospital for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Cache Club in Springfield, the Motor Boat Club, Elks Auxiliary, Christ the King Altar Society and enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by two sons, Mark (wife, Ellen) Kuntzi and Stephen Kuntzi, all of Springfield; two daughters, Linda (husband, Chris) Marley of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Susan (husband, William) Hogarth of Elsberry, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Daniel, Peggy, Nicholas, Ryan, Brady, Aspen, Christopher, Alexandrea, Amanda, and William; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, William (wife, Jeanne) Huelsbusch.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Frank Huelsbusch; one sister, Elizabeth Kabbes; and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Stephen (Katherine) Kuntzi.
