---- — Rosemary Sowers, 89, of Effingham, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, Effingham, with the Rev. David McConnell officiating. Burial will be in Dieterich Cemetery. Services are under the care of Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Effingham, or a charity of their choice in Rosemary’s name. Rosemary was born on Dec. 29, 1923, in Clay County, the daughter of George and Mary (Galloway) Birch. She married Moris Delaine Sowers on March 15, 1946, in Little Rock, Ark., and he survives. She was a member of First Christian Church, Effingham.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Moris D. Sowers of Effingham; and daughter, Pamela (Dwight) Hazen of Bloomington, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Juanita Whitehurst, Lucille Graham, Esther Murriel Graham, Billie Scott; and an infant sister, Melba Mae.
