---- — Carl R. “Tiny” Paden, 69, of rural Toledo, passed away at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Janesville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to New Mercy Worship Center of Mattoon, or Camp New Hope. Online condolences may be expressed at swengel-odell.com.

Carl was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Ashmore, the son of Carl S. and Pauline (Prichard) Paden. He married Linda Coleman July 16, 1965, in Pana. Carl attended the New Mercy Worship Center of Mattoon. He was a retired signalman for the Conrail Railroad and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalman. Carl was a Chicago Bears fan, he enjoyed working on lawnmowers and his family was his pride and joy.

Carl leaves his wife, Linda Paden of rural Toledo; five children, Gina Wallace and husband, Randy of Windsor, Coral Godby and husband, Lance Neoga, Rich Paden and wife, Sandy of Pana, Mendy Dunn and husband, Tim of Oakland City, Ind., and Allyson Paden of rural Toledo; one brother, Bud Paden and wife, Mary of Logan, Ala.; one sister, Cathy Luckey and husband, Rick of Neoga; sister-in-law, Deb Embry and husband, Lamar of rural Toledo; brother-in-law, Joe Coleman and wife, Annette of Pana; 22 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie Gambill; his in-laws; and two brothers-in-law.
