Cheryl C. Finfrock, 68, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Effingham and Champaign, passed away at 12:47 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at IU Health Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Arborcrest Memorial Park in rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Cheryl was born on Jan. 7, 1945, in Effingham, the daughter of Claude and Ruby (Brockett) Tyner. She married Carl Finfrock on Oct. 15, 1967, in Effingham.
Cheryl was a member of Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church in Urbana. Cheryl’s life work was as a medical transcriptionist for more than 40 years. She worked in Effingham, Champaign and Vincennes, Ind. Cheryl retired from the Vincennes Orthopedic Clinic. Cheryl loved her pets and also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. What Cheryl loved most, though, was spending time visiting with her friends and family.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Carl Finfrock of Lawrenceville; daughter, Shawn Finfrock of Champaign; sister, Sheila (Revis) Shelton of Effingham; niece, Kim (Andrew) Fritz of Saginaw, Texas; dear friend, Catherine Lee of Palm Harbor, Fla.; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
