---- — Betty J. Bly, 69, of Perryville, Mo., formerly of Altamont, died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at her home.

Graveside services were held Saturday in Union Cemetery, Altamont, with the Rev. Willie Deuel officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.giesekingfh.com.

Betty was born Friday, May 21, 1943, in Pinckneyville, to Hosea and Wilma (Gruber) Taylor. She married Thomas Bly on July 31, 1975, in Decatur, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2002.

Betty was a retired dispatcher, having worked for the Effingham County and Perry County, Mo., sheriff’s departments.

Betty is survived by her son, Anthony Hunter of Riverside, Calif.; daughters, Peggy Lappe of Perryville, Mo., Tami (Scott) Wacker of Hudson and Amy (Mike) Koester of Effingham; brother, Richard Taylor of Collinsville; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David, in infancy; brother; four sisters; and a sister in infancy.
