---- — Karen Ann Johansen, 65, beloved mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Monday, April 7, 2014, at her home in Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bauer Funeral Home, Effingham. Burial will be in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Ind. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.bauerfh.com.
Karen was born June 14, 1948, in Green Bay, Wis., the daughter of Arthur J. and Irene B. (Boettcher) Neville. She lived briefly in Antioch, Calif., before moving to Effingham in 1981. Karen was a caring and dedicated nurse who was currently employed at Lakeland Nursing Home in Effingham and had previously worked at Evergreen Nursing Home and Fedders Manufacturing Company.
Karen is survived by her children, Harland Neville of Clermont, Fla., Caren (Kenneth) McWhorter of Altamont, Mara Crawford of Sacramento, Calif., and Therese (Juan) Gonzalez of Monterey, Mexico; sister, Mary Hamlin of Clarksville, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
