---- — Wilton W. “Willie” Traub, 79, of Dieterich, passed away at 1 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Evergreen Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, south of Dieterich, with the Rev. Stephen Gillet officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, west of Winterrowd. Visitation will from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church and one-half hour before the service. In loving memory of Willie, memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice. Wilton W. “Willie” Traub was born on Dec. 4, 1933, in Lucas Township, Effingham County, the son of Henry and Lueetta (Schwartz) Traub. He married Joan E. Niendick on May 10, 1964, and she survives. Willie was a farmer most of his life in Lucas Township and worked on the oil pipeline. He was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He served his country in the United States Army from 1952 thru 1954 during the Korean Conflict.
Willie is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan Traub of Dieterich; brothers, Wendell (Judy) Traub of Effingham, and Terry (Joyce) Traub of Carrollton; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Lueetta; his stepmother, Agnes; and sister, Wanda Mann.
