Madonna Maude Schwarm, 86, of Loogootee, died at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Tom Suey and Bill Kistler officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, Loogootee.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home. She married Earl L Schwarm on Feb. 11, 1950, in Corinth, Miss., and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1985. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a partner in the family farm and she was always caring for others. She is survived by sons, Michael (Marianne) Schwarm and Russell (Beverly) Schwarm, both of Farina; daughters, Ina (Max) Becraft of Dunlap, and Mary Wright of Maryland Heights, Mo.; brother, Frank Springman of St. Elmo; sisters, Phyllis McElheney of Metamora, and Iris Hall of Town and Country, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stacey (Brad) Austin, Shelly (Scott) Reynolds, Crystal Lucas, Melissa and Christina Becraft; four great-grandchildren, Eli, Abram and Laela Austin and Andrew Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Thurman and George Springman; and four sisters, Mildred Goldsboro, Madge Brown and Bertrice Scribner, Mary Belle Springman.
