Paul E. Clark, 91, of Newton, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at his home.
Funeral services celebrating Paul’s life will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Newton, with Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in Redford Cemetery with full military rites by the Jasper Post 20 American Legion. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Oct. 3, at First Baptist Church, Newton. Paul Elza Clark was born on Jan. 16, 1922, in Newton, the son of Elza Paul and Etta M. (Timperman) Clark. He married Paola Ortis on April 15, 1945, in Rome, Italy, and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2000. Paul served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He owned Clark Tractor Sales in Newton for many years. Paul was a lifelong farmer and member of the First Baptist Church in Newton.
Paul is survived by son, Glen (Connie) Clark of Newton; daughters, Deanna Hollis of Wentzville, Mo., and Geneva (Don) Clark of Newton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Delane) Frichtl of Newton, Andrew (Katy) Clark of Peoria, and Jason (Karen) Clark of Greenup; great-grandchildren, Brady Frichtl, Camilla Frichtl, Holden Clark, Sabrina Clark and Landon Baker; and special friend, Pauline Swisher.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandchildren, Denise Clark and Joe Clark; and son-in-law, Frank Hollis.
