John A. “Johnny” Chisler Jr., 52, of Watson, passed away at 7:36 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery, Wheeler. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Oct. 3, at the funeral home.
Johnny was born on Jan. 29, 1961, in Effingham, the son of John A. and Kathy (Brewer) Chisler Sr. He married Toni Dial on Nov. 17, 1993, in Effingham. He was a heavy equipment owner/operator of Chisler Excavating, Watson, and a farmer. He was a member of the Salt Creek Church. He loved farming, bulldozing and taking care of his cows.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Toni of Watson; father, John A. Chisler Sr. of Watson; mother, Kathy Chisler of Watson; sons, Jake (wife Mallory) of Dieterich, Phil (wife Sarah) of Dieterich, Tyler Simmons of Watson, Jarred (wife Brandy) Simmons of Edgewood, and Josh Simmons of Edgewood; sisters, Lisa Robbins of Effingham, Michele Bannick of Sigel, and Sara Chisler of Watson; grandchildren, Cooper Chisler, Kierstyn, Payton, Brycelyn, Conner, Jenna and Halye Jo Simmons.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Chris and Claire Chisler and Anna Wagoner; uncles, Roy Wagoner Jr. and Gibb Brewer; nephew, Blake Shamhart; and niece, Kacey Simmons.
