---- — Albert “Ab” Orsborn, 91, of Neoga, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.
Funeral services celebrating Ab’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with Tom Cosat officiating. Burial will be in the Greenup Cemetery with full military rites. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Albert “Ab” Orsborn was born on Oct. 29, 1921 in Hord, the son of Andrew Harrison Orsborn and Bertha (Anderson) Orsborn. He married Dorothy Ghast on Feb. 7, 1947, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1987. He later married Elsie N. (Thompson) Cole on Jan. 2, 1988, and she survives.
Ab was a welder for Superior Equipment and worked 10 years for Neoga Township. Ab served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Mullen’s Southern Baptist Church and Gideon’s International Effingham Camp.
Ab enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Ab is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elsie Orsborn of Neoga; children, Ron (Rita) Orsborn of Greenup, Jim (Charlotte) Orsborn of Gautier, Miss, Chester (Janet) Orsborn of Toledo, Michael D. (Jodi) Cole of Neoga and Terry L. (Jenny) Cole of Mattoon; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Ab was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Orsborn; two sons, Arthur and Don Orsborn; two grandchildren, D.R. and Tabatha Orsborn; one brother, Russell “Shorty” Orsborn; and two sisters, Lilly Flick and Marie White.
