Staff Sgt. Randall R. “Randy” Lane, 43, of Indianapolis, formerly of Neoga, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, while serving with the Indiana Army National Guard in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church of Neoga. Burial will be in Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, rural Stewardson. Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 9 P.M. (EST) at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at First Christian Church of Neoga, 190 E. Sixth St., Neoga. Randy was born Oct. 24, 1969, in Neoga. He was a 1988 graduate of Neoga Junior- Senior High School. Randy also had attended the First Christian Church of Neoga and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Randy proudly served his country in the Marines and the Indiana Army National Guard for over 20 years. He loved riding his Harley, affectionately known as “Papa Smurf.”
He is survived by his wife, Gina M. Lane; his stepson, Joshua Phares; his daughters, Abigayle Napier, Ashley Lane and Delahney Lane; his mother, Darlene Albin; his father and stepmother, John and Rosemary Albin; his brothers, Greg Albin and John Davis; and his sister, Allethia Davis-Shoot.
