---- — Berniece Pagel, 96, of Dieterich, entered eternal rest at 1:15 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, at Aspen Creek of Effingham.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, rural Bible Grove. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Memorials are requested to Clay County Hospice or the donor’s choice. Pagel Funeral Homes, Edgewood, is in charge of arrangements.
Berniece was born on June 8, 1917, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of William John and Ida Bertha (Miller) Kuhring. She married Albert W. Pagel on Feb. 16, 1935, in Effingham. He preceded her in death on Tuesday, March 22, 1988. She was a housewife and a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, rural Bible Grove, for over 70 years.
Surviving are her son, Roger Pagel of Newton; daughters, Eunice (husband, Dannie) Cox of Newton and Sharon (husband, Gary) Titus of Greenup; daughter-in-law, Sharon Pagel of Ingraham; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Berniece was preceded by her parents; son, Donnie Pagel; daughter, Brenda Pagel; brother, Loren Kuhring; and sister, Cerise Kuhring.
