Willie F. “Bill” Robinson, 68, of Greenup, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at First Southern Baptist Church, Greenup, with funeral services following. Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup, is assisting the family. Bill was born on July 16, 1945, in Arthur, to Claude and Ellen (Roberts) Robinson. He married Karen Sutherland on Aug. 25, 1963. Bill was a farmer and retired from Mattoon Carpenters Local 347. Bill served on the Cumberland School Board from 1981 to 1987 and was president from 1985 to 87. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Greenup. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife of 50 years; sons, William (Tammy) Robinson of Greenup, Shane (Michelle) Robinson of Toledo, Matt (Amy) Robinson of Toledo and Josh (Julie) Robinson of Mattoon; brothers, Duane Robinson of Toledo and Jim (Brenda) Robinson of Newton; sisters, Jeanie Murray of Waycross, Ga., and Janie (Roger) James of Greenup; 15 grandchildren, Preston, Austin, Dalton, Miranda, Michael, Isaac and Eli Robinson; Levi, Alex, Joseph and Dean Robinson; Ellie, Kathryn, Joseph and Jacob Robinson.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ann Sowers and Judy Moore.
