---- — Mary Louise Fristoe, 80, of St. Elmo, passed away at 8:06 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at C & A Pagel Funeral Home, St. Elmo, with burial in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association and Wounded Warriors or donor’s choice.
Mary Lou was born in St. Elmo on Jan. 1, 1934, the daughter of Samuel S. and Ruth (Stine) Fristoe. She was a fourth-grade teacher for 34 years at Wheatland Grade School in St. James and at Washington Grade School in Vandalia. She belonged to the Illini fan club, she loved Country Music, and she really enjoyed taking care of her little dog, Littlebit.
She is survived by her sisters, Norma Jean (husband Fred) Olds of Sidney and Joyce (husband Everett) Smithson of Farina; and many close and beloved nephews and nieces.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
