Margaret Marie Schultz, 89, of Effingham, went to be with her Lord and savior on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.
A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, south of Dieterich. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hall Funeral Chapel, Effingham, and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Dieterich, or St. John’s Lutheran Church’s Braille Center, Effingham. Online condolences may be left at www.hallfuneralchapel.com.
Margaret was born July 15, 1923, in Cornell, the daughter of Vern and Belle (Shoemaker) Tarr. She married Ardell Schultz May 15, 1940, in Union, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1998. Margaret was a homemaker and she also was employed in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn and Ramada Inn in Effingham. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effingham and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dieterich for 64 years.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara (Gene) Lisenby of Effingham; sister, Marcella Street of Wheeler; three brothers, Richard (Rosanna) Tarr of Charleston, Howard (Connie) Tarr and Kendall (Zana) Tarr, both of Newton; two grandchildren, Kyle (Andrea) Lisenby and Brooke (Kenneth) Stiles of Columbia, Mo.; three great-grandchildren, Jadyn, Noelle, Logann Lisenby of Columbia, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Darlene; two brothers, Donald and Robert Tarr; and one sister, Virginia Kuhring.
