---- — Lester Lueken, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Bickford Cottage, Peoria.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Mausoleum. Deacon Robert Myers will officiate. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mausoleum. Military honors will be accorded. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. A special thank you to Bickford Cottage of Peoria and Vitas Hospice for the wonderful care shown to Les and family. Memorials maybe made to Holy Family Catholic Church. Lester was born on Jan. 31, 1930, in Teutopolis, to Joseph and Laura (Wendt) Lueken. He married Barbara Cox on Feb. 27, 1954, in Greenup. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2012. Lester was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Army. He later was a photo engraver for 40 years at Peoria Engraving Company and part owner for the last 10 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus. Lester loved spending time with his family and fishing with his grandsons. He also enjoyed taking country drives with his wife, Barb.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (Pamela) Lueken of Glasford; daughter, Leslie (Irvin) LeBlanc of Peoria; and two grandchildren, Jason and Jamie LeBlanc.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
