Earnest Wayne Woodruff, 47, of Mattoon, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
The funeral service in his honor will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, with Pastor Brad Brown officiating. Interment will be in Dodge Grove Cemetery, Mattoon. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials in his honor may be made to the donor’s choice. Born May 21, 1966, in Fort Myers, Fla., Wayne was the son of Karl and Shirley (South) Woodruff. He married Kristy Willenborg on Sept. 22, 2005, in Sullivan. She survives. Wayne enjoyed being outdoors; he enjoyed collecting tools and cutting wood with his sons. He was employed at RR Donnelley as an Assistant Pressman.
He is survived by his children, Matt Woodruff of Mattoon, Stephen Woodruff of Mattoon, and Ashley Woodruff of Mattoon; stepson Brian Willenborg of Mattoon; sister, Karol (Lewis) Igou of Baxley, Ga.; mother, Shirley Woodruff of Oblong; in-laws, Ed and Laverda (Bert) Willenborg; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Samantha.
He was preceded in death by his father.
