---- — Clinton Andrew “C.A.” Friese, 88, of Stewardson, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, in Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson, with the Rev. Gary Fortkamp officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by Stewardson American Legion Post. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran School, Stewardson. C.A was born Nov. 24, 1925, in Shelby County, the son of Andrew Martin and Anna Higgins Friese. He was a graduate of Stewardson High School. At 17 years of age, he entered the United States Navy and honorably served his country during World War II. C.A. was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Stewardson, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Effingham, and the American Legion Post of Stewardson. He farmed all of his life. From 1960-1970, he worked in the maintenance department and was a bus driver for the Stewardson-Strasburg School District.
Surviving are his son Ed (Jill) Friese of Mode; grandchildren, Kelly (Jeremy) Kinkelaar of Mode, Stacie (Charlie) Bostedo of Mode, Andy (Beth) Friese of Stewardson and J.T. Friese of Stewardson; great-grandchildren, Colin, Ella, Sienna, Gianna, Hunter and Callie; sister, Mary Keene of Effingham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, David Friese and Danny Friese; parents; and sister, Ellen Jiter.
