---- — N. Valda Paradee, 92, of St. Elmo, died at 11:02 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Friendship Manor, St. Elmo.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo, with Dan Laack officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, St. Elmo. Valda was born on Monday, Feb. 7, 1921, in Dillworth, Okla., to Thomas and Clio (Guest) Masters. She married Glen E. Paradee on April 20, 1941, at Baptist Church in St. Elmo, and he preceded her in death in 1978. She and her husband owned and operated Paradee’s Dairy Rich and she had also worked at the Family RestCue and Richardson Brothers, all of St. Elmo.
Valda is survived by son, Richard (Jane) Paradee, of Berwick, La.; daughters, Marcia (Bob) Heckert of St. Elmo and Susan (Bryan) Millman of Wildwood, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Rob (Sonja) Heckert, Val (Eric) Behl, Glen (Abby) Paradee, Chris (Abbie) Paradee, Chad (Sandi) Paradee, Kimberly (Doug) Watson, Drew Millman and Garrett Millman; nine great-grandchildren, Alena and Kali Heckert, Erica and Luke Behl, Katie, Logan, Olivia, Sam and Carson Paradee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Lawrence Masters; and sister, Ruby White.
