Rose Ann Logue McGuire, 85, left this world to be reunited with her heavenly family and friends Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pagel Funeral Home in St. Elmo with burial at Maple Wood Cemetery in St. Elmo. Visitation will be held at one hour prior to funeral service.
Rose was born on July 18, 1928 as the only daughter of Nelson and Nellie (Tucker) Logue. For many years she traveled the state of Illinois training employees for Western Union. She grew tired of life on the road, and enrolled in beauty school in Springfield, where she later opened a beauty shop.
She retired from the beauty shop and moved to Monterey, Calif., with her husband Robert J. McGuire. Together, they owned and operated the historic Cannery Row Canning Company Building on Cannery Row in Monterey. During their marriage, they traveled all over the world. She leaves friends from around the country and a legacy of helping those in need.
She is survived by her little brother, Gene (Kristine) Logue of Altamont; nephew, Jason (Heather) Logue of Skokie; niece, Karie (Rodney) Schultz of Altamont; sister-in-law, Beulah Logue of St. Elmo; and many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. McGuire; brother, Donald Logue; and her brothers and their wives, Johnny and Nellie Logue and Arthur and Mary Logue.
