---- — Marie D. Rexroad, 84, of Calvert City, Ky., formerly of Effingham, died at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in Marshall County, Ky.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham, with the Rev. Roger Marshall officiating. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Effingham. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be left at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com.
Marie was born on Feb. 4, 1930, in Dorr Township, McHenry County, the daughter of Zella C. Smith and Williard J. Garby. She married Otis E. Rexroad on April 2, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 2003.
Marie worked for Fedders Corp. in Effingham for over 25 years until her retirement. She was a totally unselfish mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Marie is survived by her children, Virginia Flowers of Queen Creek, Ariz., Nancy Brown of Dieterich, and George Rexroad of Gilbertsville, Ky. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis; daughter, Bonnie Cole; sons, Arnold and Tony; and one grandchild, Gary Rexroad.
