Mark was born on Feb. 12, 1991, at Scott Air Force Base, Shiloh Valley Township, in St Clair County, the son of Harold E. and Sue (Abraham) Heth. He was a 2009 graduate of Effingham High School. Mark was a man with a great sense of humor and a big heart. He was always cracking jokes and making people laugh. His family was constantly subjected to his stand-up comedy routines. He loved traveling and chicken wings. Mark was outgoing and active, enjoying skateboarding as well as hiking in the woods near his home. He loved animals and cherished his cat, Jenna. He was always curious about life and the universe. He liked discussing and theorizing with his friends about religion and conspiracy theories. Tupac lives. Over the last few years, Mark struggled with schizophrenia, a mental illness we don’t fully understand. The stigma behind this illness made it difficult for him.

“You gotta make a change. It’s time for us as a people to start making some changes, lets change the way we eat, lets change the way we live, and lets change the way we treat each other.” - Tupac

Mark is survived by his parents; his siblings, Katie Cates (fiance, Jake Wernsing) of Teutopolis, Nicole (husband, Brett) Nuermberger of Denver, Jon (wife, Krystle) Greider of Edisto Island, S.C., Joe Heth (girlfriend, Donna Harris) of Los Angeles, and Kiley Heth of Chicago; and nieces, Lauren Cates, Olivia Cates and Avery Greider.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Quentin and Marguerite Abraham; paternal grandparents, Merle and Joyce Heth; his uncle, Duane Abraham; and two siblings, Sonja Greider and Philip Greider.
