Clifford W. “Joe” Parks, 61, of Effingham, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mason Cemetery, Mason. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood. Memorials are requested to the Salvation Army.
Clifford was born on Sept. 25, 1951, the son of Richard L. and Doris Jean (Plank) Parks. He had worked at Peerless of America, Effingham; the American United Cab Co., Chicago; and the Salvation Army, Waukegan. Joe was a movie buff and enjoyed playing Trivial Pursuit, and he especially loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his son, William “Bill” J. Parks of Chicago; brothers, Donald (Linda) Parks of Chicago and John (Angela) Parks of Effingham; sisters, Sally (Tony) van der Graaff of Charleston and Mary Cox of Mattoon; nieces, Jeannie Carey, Elisabeth van der Graaff, Audrey Cox and Lauren Cox; nephews, Rich Parks, David van der Graaff, Matt van der Graaff and Tim van der Graaff; great-nieces, Melissa Oscarson and Grace Carey; and great-nephews, Kyle Peterson and Nolan Carey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William R. Parks.
