---- — Dorothy L. Winings, 75, of Mattoon, formerly of Neoga, passed away at 7:14 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
As per Dorothy’s wishes, her body will be cremated and no public visitation or public services will be held. Swengel-O’Dell Funeral Home, Neoga, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at swengel-odell.com. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Deana Keller, 617 Oaklahoma Ave., Mattoon, IL 61938, for her granddaughter’s education.
She was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Mattoon, the daughter of Alva and Maggie Mae (Jackson) Dow. She attended the Neoga schools. Dorothy (Luvee) was a retired bartender for more than 30 years. She lately was tending bar for the Ice House and the Castle Inn, both of Mattoon. She enjoyed her job and she also enjoyed visiting with her friends and making new friends.
Dorothy leaves one daughter, Deana Keller and husband, Abraham, of Mattoon; two brothers, Howard “Ted” Livingston and wife, Pat, and Roger Dow, all of Mattoon; and two granddaughters, Hannah and Rachel Keller.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Timmy Winings; five brothers; and two sisters.
