Lillie B. Lane, 89 of Neoga, passed away at 7:29 p.m. March 26, 2013, at Heartland Christian Village, Neoga.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, Toledo. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Brush Creek Cemetery, rural Neoga. Barkley Funeral Chapel, Toledo, is assisting the family. Online condolences can be expressed at www.barkleyfuneralchapels.com. Lillie was born on Feb. 25, 1924, in Vandalia, to Bert and Lola (Laughlin) Hatten and she was raised by Willis and Maye Hetzer. She married William Lane on Dec. 12, 1943, and he preceded her in 1998.
Lillie was a homemaker and an in-home caregiver to many. She loved to raise chickens, guineas and rabbits. She was a special and beloved mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Toledo and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Surviving are her children Bill (Bonnie) Lane, Karen Robert and Sharon Bullard, all of Neoga, June Morse, Rose Duckworth and Linda (Spencer) Christenberry, all of Toledo, Dolly (Tom) Nease of Effingham, Wilma (Jerry) Trotter of Mount Vernon and Josie (Bill) Kimberlin of Pine Bluff, Ark.; Lillie also raised her deceased daughters son, Tommy Lane. Also surviving is a brother, Frank Hatten of Charleston, and three sisters, Margie Keller and Betty Latch of Neoga and Juanita Thompson of Springfield; 30 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jewel Lane; sisters, Daisy Figgins, Della Figgins and Mary Millard; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and one great-great grandchild.
